SITE:
A 2.5-acre wooded site located within the town of Woodbridge, Virginia

PROGRAM:
The design program calls for the second of two phases of development for independent seniors. Phase 2 consists of 44 units and limited common facilities including an administrative office, resident lounge, and game room.

SOLUTION:
As anticipated in the original site plan, Phase 2 is a separate but related three-story building with two offset wings. Phase 2 shares common facilities with the Phase 1 building and is connected by a short walkway through a wooded area. The design vocabulary of Phase 1, with its strong roofline, deep overhangs and combination of brick and several siding patterns, creates a residential character for the building is continued in Phase 2.
