PROGRAM:
The design program calls for two phases of development for independent seniors. Phase one consists of 84 units and common facilities including administrative offices, multi-use room, wellness clinic, exercise room and crafts room.
SOLUTION:
The site plan accommodates the second phase development while preserving a wooded area at the rear of the site. In order to break-up the massing and corridor length, the three-story elevatored structure is organized in three wings. The multi-use room and other common areas are concentrated on the ground floor and have direct access to a patio area at the rear of the building. The design features a strong roofline with deep overhangs and a combination of brick and several siding patterns to create a residential character for the building.
