SITE:
The 10 acre site is located in Fort Washington at the intersection of Indian Head Highway and Fort Washington Road and is adjacent to the Fort Washington Christian Church and school.

PROGRAM:
The project calls for 150 units of affordable housing plus common facilities for independent seniors.

SOLUTION:
The design features two separate three and four story buildings creating a campus with the existing church and school. Both buildings have single loaded corridors providing access to the units as well as creating a “veranda” with individual planter boxes for the residents to encourage socializing. The buildings form a series of courtyards that feature a sculpture garden with accessible planting, sitting, recreation areas, walkways and paths through the wooded site. Common areas include a roof terrace, multi-use room, game and crafts rooms, several resident lounges and wellness offices.
