SITE:
This existing apartment complex is located in a residential neighborhood, just steps away from Sligo Creek Park and consists of 27 one and two bedroom units within this elevator building.

PROGRAM:
Existing units to be renovated by providing all new kitchens and bathrooms with updated HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems. Provide new handicapped-accessible units, Community Space and new entrance features.

SOLUTION:
A new entrance canopy covering a porch bench, upgraded sidewalks and a new handicapped-accessible ramp all contribute to the feeling of a “Front Door” for the residents. New storefront windows for the entry and stair tower provide an understated accent for this comprehensive renovation, which includes rain barrels to reduce stormwater runoff and Energy Star appliances and equipment that lower utility costs. There is a new Community Room with kitchenette and an enlarged Laundry area. Modified egress, enhanced site lighting, updated building access and new fire alarm systems all contribute to residents’ sense of security in their renovated home.
