rehab:  queen's manor apartments, mt. ranier, maryland

 

SITE:
A 15-acre site in the city of Mt. Rainier, Maryland

PROGRAM:
Renovation of a 3-story, 330-unit apartment complex with new common use building, gardens and related amenities.

SOLUTION:
Replacement of windows, judicious use of landscape, and new entry canopies in conjunction with various architectural elements such as gables and a trellis to mark the entrance to common use facilities including the computer learning center and the leasing center. The existing units were completely refurbished to include: new kitchens with pass-throughs, bathroom improvements, a new heating and air conditioning system, carpeting throughout, sprinkler and related life-safety upgrades, and 17 H.C. accessible units.
