SITE: :
This existing apartment complex is located in a residential neighborhood but along a busy road and consists of 20 one- and two-bedroom units.
PROGRAM:
Renovate existing units by providing new kitchens, bathrooms, HVAC and electrical systems, finishes and windows. Provide new entry canopies and refurbished grounds.
SOLUTION:
New entrance canopies, fencing and garden bench created a defensible “front yard” for the benefit of the tenants, buffering them from the foot traffic of the busy intersection. Green features such as rain barrels both reduce storm water runoff and provides the tenant’s with irrigation for tending their community garden while Energy Star appliances and equipment help reduce utility costs.
