SITE:
Adaptive reuse of five buildings on the former Lorton Correctional Complex to create 48 market rate two and three bedroom loft style units for an active adult and independent living residential complex.

PROGRAM:
Provide new services, roofs, sprinkler system, handicapped accessible units, common use areas and landscaping. Existing building configuration is to be maintained as best as possible to conform with their historical designation.

SOLUTION:
Reconfigure existing spaces.In four of the five buildings mezzanines will be added as guest rooms with view below in the 16’ high loft space
